We are incredibly excited to show you what we have been working on the last couple of months! We have put a lot of thought into the future of GraphCMS and are proud to give you a peek behind the curtain.

Please give a warm round of applause for the

🎉 New GraphCMS Open Beta 🎉 We are now live! Sign up for an account!

There are still some corners that need painting and there are a couple of features missing until we reach feature parity with the current GraphCMS, but the groundwork is done and the new features will be arriving at warp speed!

This is already the final production environment! That means that you can login with your existing GraphCMS accounts and any created projects will persist after the beta is ended. So have at it! Migration tools for existing projects will arrive soon. 🚗 💨

Please give us your feedback or report any issues in the #beta channel in Slack The new and evolving docs can be found here:

What's new?

hint: Everything!

Improved User Experience

Dashboard & Model View

We reworked the content management interface with a streamlined, modern look and improved the user experience to help you focus on the important things: Your content! The new design comes with speedy load times and a thoughtful interface that helps you find what you are looking for, fast!

Staging & Edit View

Everyone asked for it and now here it is: staging. You can now create different stages (yes, multiple stages. ) for your project and work in a non-destructive manner. For example, you could create a Master, Release Candidate and Edge stage. The last stage you create will have an editable schema. After successfully testing your changes, you can merge them upstream into the other stages, all the way to your production environment. Every stage also has a separate API endpoint. Hot edits are a thing of the past.

See it in action:

Publishing is Non-binary

We are also in the process of revamping the old and dusty "publishing" workflow. At the moment, you can choose between Draft, Published and Archived. In the future, these "status" selections will be fully customizable! You could choose between Proposed, Reviewed, Approved and Live, or whatever workflow suits your content best!

Content Views

Content Views allow you to create custom views of your content that match defined filters and custom queries. For example, you could have a view that only shows unpublished posts or authors that are older than 34. You can also specify which team members will be able to see them. Make a custom filter for legal to only see posts tagged for review, or simply distribute the workload amongst named employees. You have the full power of GraphQL queries at your disposal. Content editing is about to get revolutionised.

This feature is still in development, but will land in the beta soon.

So much more

Since this is only the beta, there is a lot more to come. Expect rapid changes in the coming weeks as we move towards the final launch!

Have a Gander at our Roadmap!

P.S.: We hope to meet some of you at the GraphQL Europe conference in Berlin! 🇪🇺
